APPLE CAKE WITH NUTELLA CREAM




I can only say that it is the cake that my daughter likes the most. I have changed the recipe over the time to improve it. I think it's perfect now and that's why I want to share it with you.


Today we also share our first video with you. In it you can see how to make this cake step by step.

INGREDIENTS (for 6-8 people)

For the batter:

  3 eggs
125 g butter
330 g sugar
190 g flour
  5 g baking powder
  2 apples

 
 
For the Nutella Cream:

150 g Nutella
200 ml Whipping Cream (33% fat)



INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat the oven to 180º.

Put the eggs in a bowl. Beat them until they are light and fluffy (about 12 minutes). Gradually add sugar, flour, baking powder and melted butter. You will get a liquid mixture.

Use a large grater and grate the two peeled apples. Add the grated apples to the batter and mix with a spatula. Pour the batter into a greased mold. I recommend you to use a 20cm-diameter mold, but you can also use a larger one, although the cake will not rise as much.

Place the mold in the oven for 45 minutes. Check that the cake is baked before removing it from the oven, inserting a toothpick in the middle, it should come out dry. Remove and cool completely before filling and covering it with the Nutella cream.

While it is cooling, prepare the cream. The whipping cream must be really cold, so place it in the fridge 24h before whipping it. The cream will only whip well if it's very cold, so if possible, place it in the freezer for another extra 30 minutes. 

Whip the cream. You will know that it is well whipped when peaks appear. Gradually add the Nutella until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Cut the cake in half and fill it with a little less than half the Nutella cream. Insert the remaining cream in a piping bag and decorate the cake as you like.
